Ok, so I created this blog before my ND one and have yet to post anything to it. My new goal is to post to both weekly. Let's see how this works.
So, my Randomness for the Day is about volunteering at my friend's consignment store, Sincerely Yours Consignment on Winchester Ave. in Ashland. My dear friend from high school, Lavenna owns the store. I'm always in there and noticed she needed help, so I started volunteering for her. Time flies working there. I will tell her that I am only going to stay for an hour or so and help, but then it is five hours later. Some days I take Brooklyn with me and she loves it. Some days, I bring Brooklyn and she brings her daughter who is a little bit older and they both play all day while we work. Some days, it is just me. Either way, I love it. Since I am moving to North Dakota in June, most people do not want to hire me for 8 weeks, even though I am willing to work that short of time. Lavenna needed the help and I am happy to help.
There are definite benefits of helping there. The other day a customer brought in a bunch of clothes and today as we were sorting through things, I moved her clothes from a cardboard box to a plastic bin so I could use the box. Guys, I swear to you, it was like my Pinterest board came to life in my hands!! There were so many things in her stuff that I fell in love with!! I was so excited!! Best things? Almost all my size and way cheaper than I would buy it at the store. I do not get a discount or paid for helping out, but I do get first dibs on the merchandise and I can not wait!! I told Lavenna," I feel like my Pinterest closet is real!!" and she did not understand it, but I know some of you reading this will. Such cute items. This customer is going to make a fortune off of me, which is good for her and good for the store.
For those of you who have clothes, furniture, housewares, etc that you want to get rid of. Consider cosigning at Sincerely Yours Consignment. You get 50% of what it sells for. There is always a sale going on there too, so if you are looking for something come down too.
I know this is starting to sound like an advertisement but I swear it is not, I am just so excited about the great things I found today. Now to get through all the new merchandise we have to go through that came in before hers so I can buy it!!
